Brown Bytes is a website to help Brown students find free food.
Using Reinforcement Learning to scrape Brown websites for free food events, as well as leveraging community crowd sourcing, Brown Bytes is the best place to find free food on campus. See the website for statistics on event frequency, approximate money saved, and to see events.
I built the system over the Spring semester of 2019, and in a way such that hundreds of students can be curators for the list at a time.
The application stack is LAMP (Linux, Apache2, MySQL, PHP), using the Phalcon PHP framework. All the code is open source and can be seen here.
